A season at the Lab'.
At the Lab', we offer a workshop space to explore the dramatic arts, learn acting, and gain experience on stage or in front of a camera. Each season is centered around a specific theme: theatrical genre, historical period, artistic movement, playwright, creative medium, or collaborative project (playwriting and screenwriting, film, festival preparation, etc.).
The first semester serves as a comprehensive training program: three weekly workshops focus on diction, acting, interpretation, stage presence, and technique, all tied to the season’s theme. The goal is to lay a solid foundation so that participants can approach the creative process in the second semester with confidence and freedom. Building on this work, we then co-create a collective piece (a performance, short film, or hybrid form) that draws on the talents of each member.

Exploration lab.
We explore a theme each season.
A laboratory-style approach; no pressure to produce - we explore, experiment, and learn:
Selection of a style, author, historical period, genre, etc.
Technical modules: stage presence, diction, rhythm, acting intent, relationship to the text, improvisation, listening, stage presence, physical training.
Work on scenes and monologues.
Theories of theater.
Presentations and workshops.
Stage tools.
Objective: to build a solid foundation for the second-semester production and develop a common language.

Applying the work from the first semester to a collaborative production: staging a play related to the season’s theme:

Weekly rehearsals

Shooting of a trailer
Casting the roles: acting, directing, playwriting, costumes, lighting, makeup, etc.
Objective: leave the lab and stage a plage based on what we have explored and worked on.

Theater play.
Our theatrical production will come to life on stage at a Viennese theater during a series of performances open to the public. This is a highlight of the season, where each member of the troupe brings their character to life, shares in the intensity of the work accomplished, and gives voice to our collective vision of theater.
